Lost Angels: Los Angeles #3

As always, LA has exceeded our expectations. So much so that we decided to stay an extra day.

I also realize we've become a full-on food blog. While some of you might love this, I'm sure others find it boring. Honestly though, the food IS exciting. Also, you Madison residents will be able to see exactly why we weigh 5000 lbs when we come home.

We're heading out of the city to Big Sur this morning for some late night hot spring action, then to San Francisco, so expect more scenic pictures and less food ones. Or maybe not.

Now, I pass the gauntlet to Emma for some captions. So long LA.

Ben, unsurprisingly, knew a taco place owned by a former boxer.

The menu/placemat combo.

Ben ordered the whole fish, and then proceeded to have quite a torrid love affair with it. Can you blame him?

More tacos.

Blackberry in one hand, fish head in another. Clearly we are related.

What does one do after tacos? Have dessert, of course.

Pure, unadulterated joy.

Even though the look on Mike's face is one of pain, he really was enjoying it. Don't draw any significant conclusions about this.

Straubs + donuts = good times

I know that this won't exactly help us burn off those calories, but it was exciting.

This was what my brother described as Mike's "six-year-old birthday party grin."

The LA companion to our photo of Delicate Arch. In the smog-y distance, the Hollywood sign.

Quintessential Los Angeles: sunset, parking lot. Right after this picture was taken, we almost ran over Robert Forrester. Then Mike talked in his "Max Cherry, bail bondsman" voice for the rest of the afternoon.

Sarita and Andrew knew we were interested in food. They did not let us down.

This is a yeti. He is climbing a mountain. That would be him on the left.

There is no Indian food in Wisconsin, as far as we can tell. We were drooling.

Blurred with happiness.

Many thanks to all of our Extra Special Guest Stars, especially Ben and Gina for letting two chubby kids move in. Next stop, the coast. We're going on a diet. Maybe.

love
E + M

P.S. Our list of celebrity sightings: Mary Kate Olson, Kate Bosworth, Tate Donovan, Ryan Gosling, Joaquin Phoenix, Michelle Rodriquez, Robert Forrester, Sandra Oh, Tom Colicchio, and Dita Von Teese.

Oh, I'm so glad you went to Paru's! I had my 17th (15th?) birthday party there.
